The sooner you sign up, the more likely you are to get behind the wheel of a 2-series on the autocross. Or 5-series. Or maybe an M ;)
Go !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and switch to "New York / New Jersey" to register.

Maybe if there was one closer to me. I'm literally in the middle of both options.

Heh. Enjoy!
![]() 06/17/2014 at 13:36 |

Is it free? I don't see anything about paying for it.

It's a traveling circus. They'll be visiting most major US cities before the end of the summer.

FREE FREE FREE! You can pay a bit more to get seat-time in the new M3 with an instructor (very worth it, in my opinion).

Signed up! I really want to learn to drive better, know of any other Driving School/Instructor guided Autocross classes in the Tri-State area? I know most aren't free which is okay.

SCCA autocross events are probably the cheapest way to get some instruction. I think they're usually $50 but you're also expected to crew the course as well, which is a small tradeoff for the talented instruction you'll get access to.

I'm on their website now, they've got some pretty good package deals! What do you mean by crew the course?

I haven't actually done it but Aaron Brown has, he could give you a better idea. But I'm pretty sure it's making sure the cones are all standing up, or pointing the right direction and just generally helping out.

Oh that's fine with me, I'm not above doing that. I'll try to pester Aaron about it.

Yeeees. Pester Aaron.

How far back does "your current vehicle" year go?

I'm going to autocross a Prius. DEAL WITH IT

Yeah they don't even have Mazda listed as an automaker, presumably because they're not even considered competition. The marketing survey for autocross is going to be skewed towards people buying 2 series 10 years old on the used market slapping sway bars and and Hoosiers on them ahaha
![]() 06/17/2014 at 23:22 |

I imagine there will be a very fast group and a group that is very slow.
![]() 06/18/2014 at 07:10 |

I want to be in the slow group so I can win, because I'm fast!

Basicslly what JBH said, it's not bad at all really, just annoying when it's raining or extremely hot.

Ahhh Aaron I was going to find you today to hit you up. I was looking at that Starting Line section on the SCCA website, is that what you did? Or did you just do the Solo/ProSolo races?
